wes anderson’s masterpiece at long last

Wes Anderson’s latest film Moonrise Kingdomfinally delivers. Before viewing it, I thought it’d be yet another Hotel New Hampshireripoff, but this time around the puzzle fits perfectly – making it a balancing act both touching and ravishing. Even though Anderson still hasn’t abandoned his disfunctional families comfort zone, he accomplishes some of the best Salinger on the silver screen scenes ever filmed. Did Roman Coppola have something to do with this accomplishment? Who’s to say. Never mind all that, and don’t let the trailer build false expectations, just go see the movie, and do stay seated until the last note of the credits has passed.
