themroc & the pencil creatures

The criminally underrated Claude Faraldo (1936-03-23 > 2008-01-29) was a self taught film maker who’s shot quite a number of interesting films. “Themroc” (1973-03), with Michel Piccoli and most of the actors of the Café de la Gare (Paris), is undoubtedly the high point of his career, but I really love his debut “Bof… anatomie d’un livreur” (1971) as well, and the same goes for “Les fleurs du miel” (1976), of which the soundtrack repeatedly uses “A child is coming” off the “Blows Against The Empire” concept lp (RCA 1970) by Paul Kantner & Jefferson Starship.
